This is a blog about my work in the field of refugee protection, advocacy, and support. I work with other stakeholders on finding durable solutions for refugees escaping from conflict and persecution in the Middle East. I have worked with refugees from all over the Arabic speaking world, but I am most interested in working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees.
Currently, I am a graduate student studying International Conflict Resolution and International Law, while working with The Checkpoint One Foundation (CPOF), which is based in Portland, Oregon. CPOF is an organization helping Iraqi refugees-- who risked their lives to aid the U.S. inside Iraq-- find resettlement here.
Starting in June of 2010, I will be living full-time in Amman, Jordan, and I will be working with the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), an organization that helps ease the plight of Iraqi refugees through legal protection, policy advocacy, and resettlement assistance.
