I have been very busy at work recently so apologizes for not updating in a long time!
Things I have been working on recently and things to come include:
1. Working on six cases of Iraqis trying to get Special Immigrant Visas. Some cases are going well, and some are being continually halted by out of date policies and bureaucratic red-tape. Then frustration ensues....
2. Working on fundraising for the foundation with the help of a very dedicated volunteer. (Thanks, Ginger)!
3. Trying to pass policies that will improve the process for Iraqis applying for SIVs.
4. The Checkpoint One Foundation will be featured in "American Legion" magazine next month. With millions of subscribers, this is very exciting news!
5. I am planning a personal trip to Jordan in order to work with Iraqi refugees. I will hopefully be going in May with a group of law students from Georgetown. Wish me luck!
More to come later..........

Hi, Kelsey!
Good luck getting your trip to Jordan together; it seems like you've done a lot of important work for refugees, and Iraqi refugees need our help now more than ever. That's why I wanted to pass along some info to you. I'm sure you'll be interested to hear that Refugees International has just launched a new campaign with two candid videos asking President Obama to turn his attention to Iraqi refugees in Syria. Check it out here: http://refugeesinternational.org/iraq-release
It would be great if you decide to repost this information or pass it along to others who might be interested. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like any more information about the campaign.
Thanks, and best wishes,
